The Healthy Plants and Bilingual Education Program is dedicated to providing current and realistic recommendations on best management practices to reduce disease incidence in nursery and greenhouse settings. We accomplish this through hosting seminars and workshops throughout the year as well as through online learning engagement. In addition, we offer trainings in both Spanish and English on the new food safety federal regulations (FSMA and the Produce Safety Rule). Finally, we conduct applied research focusing on photosynthetic microorganisms with the intent to produce innovative bioremediation methods for nursery retention pond water. We are also hoping to begin researching the efficiency of specific disinfection practices, especially with regards to propagation material in nurseries. Your donation will support this research and help to promote the success of the Oregon nursery industry!
