This program places paid, summer interns at Oregon businesses to conduct pollution prevention and sustainability research projects. The Oregon Applied Sustainability Internship Program aims to;

  • Assist businesses with waste reduction and pollution prevention, while working towards overall efficiency and sustainability goals,
  • develop Oregon’s environmental workforce through hands-on internships, and
  • create collaborative solutions to environmental problems.

Oregon Sea Grant administers the program in partnership with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, the Oregon Department of Energy, Portland State University, the University of Oregon, Oregon State University and the Pollution Prevention Resource Center.

Since 2017, OASE has placed 30 interns with businesses supported primarily by an EPA Pollution Prevention grant. Future program implementation is dependent on identifying and obtaining non-grant funding.

Your donation will go towards program management, students’ stipends and modest travel support during their full-time, ten week internships.
