Grant Program

COMPETITIVE GRANTS

The Competitive Grants Program of the Agricultural Research Foundation (ARF) is designed to encourage and fund research studies at OSU that will enhance Oregon’s agricultural productivity; the quality of its produce and products; and wise management and use of its natural resources—air, water, watershed, forest, fisheries, and wildlife.  Our goal is to make catalytic grants that help young scientists launch their research, and help established scientists embark on new research directions or approaches.  Oregon State University professorial-titled faculty with research interests in agriculture and natural resources are encouraged to apply.

Every year, ARF awards monies from its general operations fund for new research projects.  See the Grant Program Past Projects section of this website for listings of funded research.

A history of the Competitive Grants Program has been written.  It can be accessed in electronic form by clicking here.  Hard copies can be obtained by contacting the ARF Office.

We have prepared a short video that describes some of the fundamentals of the competitive grant program.  If you have questions about the program, we encourage you to watch this video - An ARF Overview of the Competitive Grant Process
